I was mowing and spotted my first monarch of the season. It was flying north to south through my field and the flight was fast. I assume it was in search of milkweed. I’ve not seen any growing yet, but it is probably sprouting everywhere.
I watched it until it disappeared. About five minutes later I saw what I suspect was the same one, because it’s flight looked the same...hurried.
