There is a lot of nesting behaviour of robins in a maple tree in my yard. One pair has been here a month and the female is brooding on her eggs while the male valiantly defends his turf from grackles, starlings, squirrels and other robins. Another pair have just finished a nest at the back of my property down in the ravine. He is encroaching on the first robin. Another pair are nesting in my neighbours window cap under their eaves. It is very amusing watching them from our sun room window. When I go out to garden, one of the robins will follow me and check where I have been digging. Occasionally I find a worm or grub and toss it towards the robin or out on the lawn for him to find later. He has become quite friendly.
