Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 04/24/2019

Number: 1

I have not seen any Monarchs at my home location in the Raleigh, NC area, but did see my 1st in the Greenville, NC area the last week of April. I was out mowing a large weedy section of my property when I saw it. For an adult, it was smaller than I'm used to seeing. Even w/all my riding mower noise it stayed in the same general "weedy" area.
Then, in my back yard from 05/03--05/05 there was a small adult fluttering around in my fenced-in, "mostly weedy with some turf" back yard. For some reason it kept going back to a small Viburnum bush (newly planted, only 2 1/2 ' tall---one spent bloom). Near nightfall it settled on a leaf, and spread it's wings out flat (guess it slept there?)
