Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 05/06/2019

Number: 1

A smallish male, hiding in Ninebark shrub, then in Barberry bushes, I think nibbling at buds and finally flying up to the crook arms of my pole system, and landing on the nectar feeder which I hung out the day before. Long drink, then took off and continued his journey. Did not go to the orange halves on a branch hook, which he surely would have seen.
Late this afternoon, a second male oriole, but different black bib on chest...again, nectar only and no oranges. This oriole was very calm and looked like one of the ones that came last year.
