Put the feeder out early in the morning and late afternoon that day saw one that returns year after year. I call it Ratty because it is a very distinctive Ruby Throated that has a lot of black around it's throat unlike prettier Ruby Throated males. He is always the first to arrive and my home is clearly his territory.
