Signs of Spring

Date: 05/11/2019

Number: 1

Around 10AM a red fox appeared at the northeast side of the habitat, and quickly traveled along the lower east bank--heading south and entering the area surrounding our home. Our crows are welcome in the habitat, and enjoy the luxuries of easy corn, peanut splits and sunflower seeds. In turn, the crows often act as security guards--chasing hawks away. (Natural protection for small birds, chipmunks, squirrels :) As the fox entered the area surrounding the house and started to dine on corn and sunflower seeds, The Crows, started a verbal ruckus, and fly bys and dives, to let the fox know he was not welcome. The fox quickly headed north, and was on his way to quieter, more secluded spring hunting:)
