Hummingbird, Other Observations

Date: 05/14/2019

Number: 8

It’s cold in the forest this morning—35 degrees, our small guests arrived at various feeders at 5:59 AM. All hummingbird feeders were cleaned with hot water, the ant moats were filled with hot water and warm nectar was served. They’re enjoying 8 mini humm zinger feeders, plus 2 old fashioned pinch neck perky pet feeders (that the Orioles prefer) and a large orange oriole nectar feeder. The hummingbirds use the large orange oriole feeder—and the Orioles ignore it :) As the season progresses, 12 ounce feeders will be added to various positions throughout the habitat.
