I caught a quick glimpse of a monarch yesterday, but couldn't tell the sex. Today I saw a large, fresh male acting territorial, circling around my yard claiming the space. He's been out there for a half hour flying over the house, garden beds, and circling the milkweed. He's very fresh, large and a deep orange color.
