I chanced upon this newly-emerged Monarch butterfly today. She and her chrysalis were about seven feet above ground, in an oak tree. The nearest Milkweed plant was about nine feet from the tree. Her wings looked full-sized and she was just beginning to wave them. What a happy encounter!
