Four large fourth-instar monarch caterpillars were chowing down on milkweed in the native plants garden at Crowley's Ridge State Park, Arkansas shortly after noon today. Some of the plants had been chewed to the nub and others to the stem suggesting recent feeding activity by a number of other caterpillars.
