Gray Whale Sighted

Date: 05/20/2019

Number: 2

A pair has been in area this past week, I saw a pair first time today. One much bigger than other but other did not appear so small as to be a baby. I watched from 8:30am -2:30pm. This whole time was within a 3 block length and same distance out. Going back and forth. Saw bigger one floating on surface a few times often combined with seeing head lifted to see snout and assume open mouth. Often the two were near surface and seemed to be almost touching they were so close. Bigger one always lead the meander to another spot. Not much farther out than end of pier. Minor chop on water, rain drizzle, 12 degreees. Google grey whale Boundary Bay and see story of a pair almost stranded nearby at low tide.
