Tried for 6 YEARS to attract orioles. I gave up in 2017. Then right on Mother’s Day this year (2019) I saw one pecking at my suet feeder. I scrambled to get my old oriole feeder out, filled it with jelly, and dashed out to hang it. It ate at that feeder and the suet for 5 days. Haven’t seen it since. I only ever saw this one male. Online research says they are busy nesting and switch their diets from sugar to insect protein. Not sure if he will ever come back.
