I saw my first Monarch of the season today. It's finally nice and warm after a wet and cold May. She was a little faded but her wings were in good condition. She checked out each common milkweed plant in the front yard and boulevard. She passed up every plant that was 4-6 inches and laid her eggs on small plants maybe 2 inches tall. The under side of the leaves were dirty from splashing rain. She laid her eggs on the small inside leaves. I collected 3 eggs.
