Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 06/04/2019

Number: 13

We visited DJ's yard. In a half hour, D.J., Maya and I found 13 larvae and 4 eggs in the garden on 34 A. syriaca plants. We searched only about half the milkweed in the garden. A few plants had 2-3 larvae hiding in the uppermost leaves of the plants. It was 66F but felt cool, and many larvae had obviously just freshly molted from 2nd to 3rd, or were about to molt. One 3rd instar was clearly basking on a leaf. We had our light coats on, it was cloudy, no breeze. See photos at https://www.flickr.com/photos/candy__kasey/albums/72157708931504721
