1st instar, just a few hours after hatching from its egg, late afternoon on June 5th. It's egg had been one of three found June 4th, all on the same plant. The plant was a 1 foot tall common milkweed growing in a mostly sunny place. There were other milkweeds nearby, and about 10 more unhatched eggs among them.
