Two Monarchs visited our backyard butterfly bushes in the early afternoon. One stayed for about 10 minutes. Bright and shiny wings. The one that stayed for a while was a female. Did not get a good look at the second one. Female had no interest in laying eggs even though we have plenty of native milkweed plants growing, both showy and narrow leaf species.
