Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/05/2019

Number: 7

Dead and dying monarchs on the shores of Lake Superior this week,

Additional notes added 6/9/19:
I usually see a few monarchs dead or dying along the shore every year. I saw my first dead one this year earlier this past week., and 6 additional all on the same day (6/5/19).

Today (6/9/19), amazingly, I saw one flying along above the waters' edge (wondering why it wasn't over land) and it seemed to catch an updraft and fly further out over the lake, but towards the city, which was maybe a mile away straight over the water. I'm right at the "head of the lake", so it narrows a lot here, as you can see on the map.
