Sunny and cool about 58 degrees in the forest today. 9:30 AM raspy, Sand Hill Crane voices were alerting me of Mr and Mrs’s arrival by our home. I’ve been trained by Sand Hill Cranes :) and took corn out to them, on the driveway.
Mrs. approached, and was unusually close to me, (within 6 feet to consume corn). Mr continued talking, squawking, and turned away, to walk into the ferns.
I didn’t see their baby this morning. They were unusually talkative. Hopefully their chick has not been harmed (consumed) by other residents of the forest.
