Sightings report image

Date: 04/26/2019

Number: 1

On April 26, 2019, the first larvae hatched from eggs I'd found in my milkweed patch the week of April 22. I collected eggs and raised them in my habitat. (I had previously observed faded monarch(s) depositing eggs on April 22, 24, and 27th.) On May 25, my first 5 monarchs emerged from chrysalis. Between the 25th and 29th of May I released 41 healthy monarchs. The picture was taken May 27, the day I released 12.
A big surprise came on June 10,2019 when I saw a brightly colored monarch laying eggs in my milkweed patch.
