Neighbors visiting :) Picture is fuzzy, because it was taken through a window at dusk; but you can see who our neighbors are:)

No deer hunting is allowed at Wintergreen. This restriction has been in place for 26 years.

The deer know our habitat provides a safe haven. Their coats are particularly beautiful in early summer, truly golden, and the bucks are starting to form horns on their heads.

It's not uncommon to see a young fawn playing with a buck. Sometimes a spotted-fawn child will lower his or her head, skip, dance, frolic, and run towards a buck as if to initiate battle. It's a very humorous sight to behold--and received with tolerance, and good will by the bucks.
