Hello bird people, 94* dew point 77 heat index 102. Hot,hot, hot! The migration was a bit off this year due to the cold spring and the horrendous flooding. Haworth park is still underwater. On a lighter note the rains have made gardens grow great. The cone flower and the giant dill went ballistic. The tickseed, bachelor button, saliva, zinneas, and 4 o'clocks have all bloomed. Still waiting for blazing star, Mexican tourch, Spanish flag and cypress vine to bloom. Butterflies are starting to stream through. A lot of painted ladies, sulfers, monarchs, variegated fritillaries, black swallowtails, even a couple of giant swallowtails. Also have a house wren and hummingbirds. The photo is one of my pollinator gardens. Good birding to all.
