False Sunflower, Heliopsis helianthoides. A member of the Aster family, perennial,native. Habitat: dry, sun, fields and prairies. Only one flower per stem. "A nice butterfly garden plant that is easy to grow." Wildflowers of Michigan Field Guide, by Stan Tekiela
