I saw 3 monarchs feeding on coneflowers, monarda and phlox this a.m. Now it's 94 degrees, with a dewpoint of 79 and a heat index of 111 degrees. The monarchs have taken cover along with everyone else. There are hail and tornado warnings nearby. I don't imagine there is much monarchs can do to protect themselves from hail or heavy winds.
