I spotted him just as he eclosed deep within Louisiana Iris 15’ from any milkweed But so had a huge garden spider that had spun a lovely web just 6” away So as soon as his wings were full and probiotics in order I coaxed him onto my finger and into a mesh cage to finish drying in the sun He was released safely in time for a few test flights before finding his first roost for the night
