Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/03/2019

Number: 10

at least 10 sighted around our property.

also 20-22 collected and being captive reared.

it's been hard to keep track of the captive reared ones ... they are spread between 3 aquariums with screen tops. A number came in more or less unintentionally ....as eggs on leaves / stalks brought in for food. ;) So, there has been a range of hungry 'pillars.

Currently, 27 are in chrysalis form; and there are now 5 caterpillars left .... three fairly small (must have been eggs or tiny when they came in) and two larger ones.

One observation I would make is that I can tell there are easily many more caterpillars around here than I have seen in years. (And we have lived here for 34 yrs.)
