Just as I was going out onto our backyard deck at about 5:30 PM I very briefly saw a Monarch butterfly come up past the southeast corner of the deck, continue on up, then over our house, and quickly out of sight.

At the time, the sky was mostly sunny, with:

• Wind from the SW at about 8 mph
