Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/15/2019

Number: 5

10:00 a.m. The sun is out and it's a warm beautiful day. The garden is busy with monarchs and other pollinators. A tall blazing star is a big draw. I'm seeing Monarchs with faded wings, glossy looking wings and a fresh Monarch with a bit of missing wing, see attached photo. All the butterflies are chasing each other out of the flower patch. Yesterday afternoon I observed a painted lady take after a hummingbird with a Monarch chasing after both of them. Quite the show.
