8:00pm the last Monarch finally took to the trees at 7:56pm. The sun was gone from the garden and the nighttime bugs were starting to chirp and this Monarch was still making the rounds of the flowers. These late feeders ignore the tall blazing star and go for the zinnia and the purple verbena. It must have something to do with the changing light as the sun goes down. The monarchs usually ignore the verbena during the day but go for it the later they're around.
