Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/18/2019

Number: 4

We have had multiple monarchs in and out all week.

Today there have been 4 so far. Three of them we flying hurriedly around the yard and two of the three were doing a mid-air dance.

This picture was taken at 2:50pm today of a faded in color female feeding on the Mexican Sunflower.

Sunny, very humid, light SW winds and the temperature is 86 degrees.

Seems as if we have had more August visitors than in previous years.

This may be attributed to a bountiful food source as we have had beneficial timing in rains all summer and the flowering gardens are in full bloom along with the late summer plants coming into their own.
