Aug. 18th 2019 Evening At The Tip at Point Pelee National Park 7:15 - 8:20pm. 27°c with moderate SW wind at 21 -29 kmh.
Observed 19 Monarchs flitting about west path; nectaring on Swamp Milkweed blossoms, Tip is visible in background. A few were settled on Hackberry & bare branches. One attempted to journey south to the Tip but turned back retreating to treeline. A few settled in Hackberry near Tip Shuttle stop.
Another storm forecast for 10 pm (Dark skies seen in a few photos).
Goldenrod is beginning to bloom.
