One monarch has visited my garden today. Also a monarch has visited my garden at least three times in the last three weeks. I saw two small monarch caterpillars on my pink swamp milkweed two days ago.
Yesterday I carefully brought one of the caterpillars inside to a homemade habitat with the pink swamp milkweed. When I found the one caterpillar it was sedentary and when I brought it in it was mostly still. It has pooped quite a bit and has only eaten 2 leaves that I can tell. It has become sedentary again.
Today I saw one large monarch caterpillar on my white swamp milkweed eating voraciously. I left it outside since it’s in a bushy white swamp milkweed Location that is well ventilated but provides a lot of cover.
