Up until yesterday we had not sighted any evidence of any Monarchs in our yard, be it eggs, caterpillars, or butterflies on the wing. Finally, yesterday we reported 4 caterpillars. You can view that report at:

Today things changed even more when we spotted our first Monarch butterfly at about 10:45 AM. Added to that, it was a female laying eggs on a swamp milkweed.
Granted, the included photo is not the most exciting. But it was the one opportunity when she posed long enough on a dried day lily stem for me to snap a shot to prove that we did finally spot a Monarch butterfly at our home.
