I have seen 1-10 monarchs a day within half hour from my home in Portsmouth, NH all of June, July and August. This week I saw about 5-10 a day. I have 3 caterpillars on my 2 small milkweed plants...slow growing but 2 are getting anxious and on the move to find a place to hang up on. I have the milkweed in container buckets to keep them away from the pesky aphids, ants, earwigs, spiders, wasps, flies and leaf hoppers that poison the wilkweed by spreading a bacteria on the leaves. So far the caterpillars are safe. Fingers crossed.
