Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 08/22/2019

Number: 95

Reporting once a week because there are so many here. This day 95 was the high. Some are resting some of the time in the mountain ashes. Not just overnight but occasionally random times during the day, not only in the sun. Never seen that before.

Garden has non-gmo, pesticide-free plants, many Minnesota natives:
asclepius tuberosa
liatris aspera
liatris (some other native variety blooms earlier and is done by now)
zinnias
tithonia (1st year for this)
great blue lobelia
etc.

Truly amazing this year!

Common milkweed is almost all old. Next year I'll cut half down early July and hope they sprout to be fresh by August migration time.
