Aug. 22nd 2019 Evening at the Tip at Point Pelee National Park 7:15-8:15pm.
125 Monarchs seen.105 seen almost all the way down to the Tip on tree branches cascading over west path. Most were establishing overnight clusters. Numerous clusters of between 2 & 12 monarchs. Twelve being the largest cluster seen.
They roosted on Hackberry, Hop & bare branches. 3-4 mated pairs were seen. Just a few monarchs were faded/tattered.
About 20 arrived from the north just after sunset (8:20pm) and flitted down toward the clusters.
A cold front arrived overnight.
