I have planted Joe Pye Weed and Swamp Milkweed (grown from seed) on our property as well as other native plants to bring nature home. With the Swamp Milkweed I have had at least 20 Monarch caterpillars on the milkweed and one created a chrysalis on my potted bean plant on my deck! Never seen Monarch larvae on the Common Milkweed.
