I had left the hatchback open with new plants from a greenhouse where they weren't being visited by pollinators, so we're full of nectar. As I went back to carry a pentas to the garden, an indignant male ruby throated hummingbird buzzed the plant. My husband told me the hummingbirds had been ducking into the back of the car to sample the nectar while I was inside the house with the other purchases.
