10:17pm 64 degrees, sunny and winds out of the west at 12 MPH. Lots of Monarchs buzzing around the garden. They are feeding on meadow blazing star, orange zinnia, purple verbena, and even a white cosmos and a smaller sized burnt orange daylily. The two meadow blazing star plants I put in about 10 days ago are starting to bloom. The top flower on each plant is just opening and there are monarchs on both plants. The swallowtails don't seem to have any interest in blazing star and focus on the tall phlox but the painted ladies like the blazing star.
