Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/22/2019

Number: 50

Walking along the west facing beach for an hour on Lake Huron side of the Bruce Peninsula. Monarchs were all flying due south along the coast. One was flying north which made us laugh. There was a crisp breeze of autumn in the air. Can't remember the direction of the wind but probably somewhat from the north. 20"C. Too cool for swimming that day for our party, but there were stout-hearted folk playing in the water. One tired and spent monarch lying on the wet sand. There were plenty of milkweed plants growing among the dune grasses.
It was very exciting to witness the fall migration happening.
