Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/21/2019

Number: 10

In the small parking lot beside the water, but protected from wind by a hedge of trees, in just the short time required for 5 adults to crawl into their wet suits to snorkel the shipwrecks in the crystal clear water, we saw about 10 Monarchs, all flitting south!
They must have just crossed water from the north in their journey south unless they spent their whole summer/lifetime at the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula.
I was hoping to glimpse the fall migration here and was not disappointed.
