On an eastbound train east of Caledonia as we rounded a curve I looked back to look at train and the exhaust from the locomotive hit a cottonwood branch I saw at least 3 monarchs come out and start flying southerly. Saw a similar occurrence a few miles back at Marion. Possibly roosting. Around 0830 in the morning mid 60s Fahrenheit.
