Between 12 noon and 12:30 Monarch (female) emerged from chrysalis on porch siding. About 2:30 p.m., I moved the butterfly to a nearby phlox plant. By 2:45 p.m. a second Monarch landed near the first and rested there, flew off and returned to the newly emerged monarch again. By 4 p.m., the first monarch flit around the garden and eventually flew off toward the woods.
