We counted 55 monarchs at Rick Evans Grandview Prairie on Saturday, August 31. Most were flying above large patches of A. viridis. We also counted 6 eggs and found 1 first or second instar larva.We compared this to a count we made last year on August 27 when we saw 54 monarchs at the same prairie. Both counts were made between 10:30 - 1:30. Temperature both days were in the lower 80's with partly cloudy skies.
