Number: 50

Early morning sun gathering ,East facing tree branches

Editor's note: contacted observer for more details on this sighting

Sighting was Tuesday 9/3 about 9:30+/-, had been a number of the butterflies in trees in the cemetery but no concentration. Always noticed mornings on east facing oaks.

Took the estimate method of watching a single branch then trying to extrapolate by number of branches.

The cemetery is adjacent to a 56 acres WMA in the 2nd full year of growth. Lots of Partridge pea, lupine, beggar ticks, artichokes and big blue stem reaching maturity.

Evening temps on Sunday early AM were in the low 50s, Monday 62+/-. Winds over weekend were light variable from SW then SE on Monday evening the wind switched to strong from NW. The branches were facing east in the early AM.

Hope this helps. Fun watching and reporting
