Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/04/2019

Number: 13

The hummingbirds were slow to come to the feeders this year. (It was a cold spring.) But, once the weather warmed in April, we observed females and males, adults and juveniles. In all, about 13+ birds frequenting the feeders and yard flowers. Preferred flowers: Mexican Petunias, Red Salvia, and Giant California Zinnias. Preferred perches: Red Bud Tree, Japanese Maple, Oaks and Red Maples near the feeders. They are still here; not migrating yet.
