Hello I was hiking the Chikanishing Creek Trail in Killarney Provincial Park as you come out into Daves Bay. I was at the point were you enter the Bay across from Phillip Edward Island and there were easily 50-100 + Monarchs an hour. They were positioned really high and at ground level. Moving in pods of 1-12 with 5-10 seconds between pods. IT was beautiful. IN 52 years of hiking I have never seen anything like it. Some where soaring on currents of air as the day was brisk and windy. I have never seen butterfly's soar on wind currents. It was magical.
