Our class released six monarchs that were in our care until they came out of their chrysalis. Three flew away immediately. A few weren't ready to fly right away because they had just emerged and had to wait until their wings dried and filled out. We set them on a butterfly bush at our school and after a short while they headed away on their journey south.
