Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/05/2019

Number: 3

We have lots of wild Milkweed around our property, as well as cultivated. We also have Butterfly weed, which must be in the same family as Milkweed because it’s seeds are identical. They’ been completely eaten and we’ve found several caterpillars. We’ve put these on Milkweed in our gazebo to keep them safe from birds and animals which might rat them. At present, we have two chrysalises and one large caterpillar, which we’ll release as soon as they become butterflies
