we have two patches of milkweed (common and swamp types) - about 18 plants. Most plants are totally eaten, but I had several on which I hadn't seen a single caterpillar. Today some of those had about 9 on them altogether. I still have 2 plants that are about 3.5' tall that have not been eaten and no sign of larva all season. Don't know why!
