Monarch Waystation #271 reports sighting one hummingbird [without tail spots] nectaring at several Tithonia AKA Mexican Sunflower blooms in succession at 12:10 pm today. The bird faced away from me as I came out to take some garden photos. I watched it sample 3 flowers on 2 different plants before it noticed me. Before I could focus my camera for a
close-up it took off straight up and flew over the house roof out of sight towards the south.
